About Guardianes de la Naturaleza Guardianes de la Naturaleza is OceanVida’s international program, which works mainly with native young people living in critical ecosystems to preserve the ocean and coastal habitats. The program was designed and first implemented in 2007 on the Caribbean coast of Colombia by Miguel Hernandez, educator and conservationist, in association with Vidal Bautista and Dorkas Bautista, local community leaders. Through the years, we have been supported by community organizations, international organizations, private businesses and other NGOs, both in Colombia and the U.S.
