Birdwatching with Estado Natural

This is an 8-day birdwatching tour along the Caribbean coast of Colombia.  Starting in Cartagena, we will be driving to the most important birding sites in northern Colombia, including Salamanca and Tayrona national parks, and Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta—home to the highest endemism in Colombia.  Colombia has the richest avifauna in the world:  1876 species of birds has been recorded in the country, 6 of which have been discovered since year 2000.    The Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta is the top birding site in Colombia with 635 species recorded, 36 species and 55 subspecies are considered endemic.  After visiting Salamanca National Park, we will explore Minca and San Lorenzo in the Sierra Nevada looking for some of the rarest birds in Colombia.  We will then drive to Tayrona National Park for more birding and exploration in one of the most spectacular coasts and beaches in Colombia.  This is a fully guided tour led by our bilingual tour leader and assisted by local guides.
